Tilefish Rig (Solid Body Squid)

A Northeast Canyon TilefIsh Rig.  We use Mustad circle hooks for an easy hook up and 80 pound Diamond Leader.  Each hook has a 4″ solid body squid on them and a green glow crimp protector where the hooks join the 3 way swivels (which help reduce tangle ups when dropping the line down).  The oversize squid provides a nice big target for the fish deep down to see! A generous sized weight loop at the bottom of the rig is provided to attach your weights to get the rig to the bottom.   Add squid, bonita, butterfish or anything else you use for bait and crank them up!

Please remember….Once you find the tilefish, only take a few from the spot and move on to find another location!  Tilefish are easy to fish out and we need to be proactive in maintaining fishery.
